Words are nice, but it’s actions that really matter. I appreciate it when people show rather than tell me they care. Dependability, trustworthiness, and honesty are great attributes in a friend.
According to the book Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, I’m an “Acts of Service” girl.
This makes me wonder if others know how I feel about them based on my actions. It’s easy to tell someone I care but do my actions demonstrate it: Do I make time for people when they need a friend? Am I quick to act if someone needs help? Am I dependable, a woman of my word?
Christ’s life personifies love in action, and the Bible so wisely tells us in 1 John 3:18, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
