Asking suggests Dependence.
Seeking suggests Yearning.
Knocking suggests Persistence.
Advent started yesterday, a time to prepare more room in our hearts for Christ. Advent is the four Sundays before Christmas and always ends on Christmas Day. We make room for renewed hope, love, peace, and joy during this time.
Hope, this week’s virtue, is something I am asking for more of—a hope not based on fragile circumstances but on the very character of God. Zechariah 9:12 says we are “prisoners of hope.” We hope because God is hope.
I am most grateful that hope depends not on me and my circumstances but on God and His faithfulness. This season I am asking, seeking, and knocking for God to bring more hope, love, peace, and joy that only He can provide.
