I regret that I gossiped with a friend last night. I know all too well how gossip divides people and hurts reputations. I was mad at someone and spoke poorly of them. How could I be so insensitive?
I have much bigger regrets, but dwelling on them is not the answer, but I know what is—Do better next time. Admit where I went wrong and make a decision to do things differently.
God forgives us when we ask and get us on the path of becoming better.
Rather than getting stuck in regret, we get a fresh start every day—a chance to do better instead of believing we can’t change.
“A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them he gets another chance.” -Proverbs 28:13 TLB
