New vs. Old

Dwelling on the past steals our joy in the present.

God gives us a fresh perspective on our challenges when we fix our eyes on Him instead of our past hurts and struggles. He broadens our outlook when we look past our pain to all that He is doing. Even when we don’t understand why things happen as they do, He is worthy of our trust.

To pick up the new, we need to lay down the old. It may seem that a door has been closed, but maybe we just need to shift our gaze to the new thing He is doing. God is blazing a new path full of promising opportunities.

Isaiah 43:19 tells us, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
